Our loving Dad, Raymond Biles died on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Ray was born in his parents' farm house in Pippin, WI on July 16, 1935. He moved to Milwaukee with his parents as a young boy. Ray went on to be the first in his family to graduate from college, through the ROTC program at the University of Wisconsin where he earned a degree in economics. Ray served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant and company commander for the 3rd training regiment in Oklahoma.

While at U of W he met the love of his life, Carolyn. The two married shortly after college and had three boys (Bob, Greg and David). They lived in Kalamazoo, MI for 30 years before he and Carolyn moved to the Philadelphia area to be near his sons Greg and David.

Ray was the quintessential family man, always going to football and baseball games, wrestling matches and school functions. He was very handy and industrious, making furniture and other woodworking, enjoying hours in his woodshop. He had a small side business for a while drafting plans for colonial furniture. He learned to be an expert baker to satisfy his sweet tooth, earning the nick name "Sugar Daddy" by treating family and friends to wonderful cookies and his famous pies. He could always make a new friend with a plate full of his tasty creations. After retirement from 30 years of service for the federal government, he and Carolyn traveled the world. From Peru to Australia, riding camels in Egypt and elephants in Botswana. They crossed from China into Tibet the day it was reopened to visitors on May 1, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons and daughters-in-law, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A private remembrance was held. Ray donated his remains to the Humanitarian Gift Registry for medical research and training.
