Polly Youngs

Youngs, Polly 6/10/1935 - 8/4/2022 Portage Polly Laurene (Reed) Youngs, 88, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2022. Polly was married to James O. Youngs on January 11, 1954. They celebrated 58 years together and had two sons, Reed and Greg and adorded their three grandchildren, Amy, Megan and Jim. Polly was employed in the transportation field for over 40 years. She was Jim's biggest supporter during all of his county clerk campaigns. They enjoyed their time on Mackinaw Island at the Governor's Conference and yearly Michigan County Clerk's Association Conferences. Polly will always be remembered for her Christmas Open Houses and her wonderful cooking. She had a generous spirit and was loved by all who met her. She was an avid volunteer for the Vickburg's Lioness' Club, South County Community Center, and enjoyed her time with the Vicksburg Women's Library Group. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 18th, 2022, at the Zhang Senior Community Center, 203 E. Centre St., Portage. Visitation will be from 10 AM until Noon. A memorial service will begin at Noon, followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vicksburg Library, Zhang Senior Community Center or Hospice (Centrica Care of Southwest Michigan).
