Paul Edward Rogers of Augusta, MI, age 90, died Friday evening, April 28, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, MI, with his loving daughter, Ginger at his side. Paul, the youngest son of Frank H. and Elsie Mae (Revalee) Rogers, was born in Wayne County, IN and retired to this area from Pinellas Park, FL. He served his country honorably and nobly during World War II as a Private in the United States Army Air Corp with 3701st AAFBU. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was then the caregiver to Dolores (Alzheimer) until it became more than he could handle, that's when they moved in with their daughter and son-in-law in Augusta, Michigan in 2010. Paul loved music; he played the guitar and sang. He played in a band for about 6 years. He also played at the New Paris Jamboree for years while in Ohio and Friday night jam sessions in Fl with his cousin Dick Shepherd and some postal buddies. Paul loved baseball and played semi pro ball when he was younger. He also played a mean game of Euchre and was an avid bowler. Paul was united in marriage to the former, Dolores E. "Dodie" Tharp in Richmond, IN on May 23, 1953 and she sadly preceded him in death on December 2, 2014. Surviving is his daughter, Ginger L. (Rick) Slone of Augusta, MI; a son, Michael A. (Luella) Rogers of Pinellas Park, FL; a daughter, Paulette Johnson of St. Petersburg, FL. Also, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many others who he loved and called his grandchildren.
