Paul "Mike" Wanroy

WANROY - Paul Michael "Mike" Wanroy, age 60, of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Greg (Rachel) and Michael (Shawna); brothers, Rick, Dave (Nancy) and Doug (Marcia) Wanroy; sister, Jane Wanroy; many nieces and nephews and special aunt, Eleanor Wanroy. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dorothy Wanroy. He graduated from Aquinas College and started his early career in broadcasting which led to a natural transition to a long career in insurance. Mike enjoyed sailing and reading and was involved in fundraising for many charitable organizations. He loved his cars and spending time at his cottage up north. Above all, he loved spending time with family and friends. Mike will be missed by all who knew him for his wisdom, wit, sense of humor and fantastic hair. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Robert of Newminster Catholic Church, 6477 Ada Dr., Fr. Len Sudlik presiding. The family will receive friends at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the Mass at church on Saturday.
