Paul & Carol Hamilton

Hamilton, Paul & Carol Jackson Paul Edgar Hamilton, 82, and Carol Anne Hamilton, 80, both of Jackson, Mich., passed away recently. Paul died Nov. 6, 2016, from congestive heart failure and Carol died Dec. 10, 2016, from cancer. They were married for 60 years. Paul was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Comstock, Mich., the son of Edgar and Clara Hamilton. He graduated Comstock High School and served in United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Carol was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Kalamazoo, Mich., the daughter of Fran and Frank Wunderlin. The couple ran the Jackson County Meal service for more than 30 years. The couple is survived by Christine Finch of Jackson, Mich., Elizabeth Dziurkiewicz of Jackson, Jim (Karin) Hamilton of Clarksville, Tenn., Tom Hamilton of Jackson, and Missy (Jeff) Steers of Jackson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five siblings; and a number of nieces and nephews. They were preceded in death by their parents; son, David Hamilton; one sister; and one son-in-law. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Jackson Free Methodist Church, 2829 Park Drive, Jackson. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, 1169 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108 or Great Lakes Caring/Hospice of Jackson, 900 Cooper St., Jackson, MI 49202. For more than 30 years Paul and Carol did God's work helping serve meals to senior citizens in Jackson County 365 days per year. Their spirit of devotion to helping others will live forever.
