Patricia Heck

Heck, Patricia 11/24/1936 - 1/10/2022 Kalamazoo, MI Passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at The Villa at Winston Court, in Marshall, Michigan. Pat was born on November 24, 1936 in Lafayette, Indiana, daughter of Howard A. and Capitola T. (Brickler) Knicklebine. Pat was a graduate of Brookston (Indiana) High School, and earned an Associates Degree as a Medical Secretary from Elkhart (Indiana) University. After spending a long career in Human Resources at the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio, she moved to Kalamazoo in 1992 to be closer to her sister and her family. She found much enjoyment in traveling, reading, and in living a quiet and very independent life. She also enjoyed collecting books, antiques, pottery, and glassware, and spent many weekend afternoons antique-shopping with her sister Carolyn and her niece Jennifer. She enjoyed many trips with her longtime friend Rose Coleman with whom she traveled to Europe. Her sister Carolyn was also a frequent traveling companion. "The twins" had many great adventures together, including their favorite spots, Disney World and Las Vegas. Pat was preceded in death by her mother and father, and by her younger sister, Carolyn Sue Jonas of Kalamazoo. She is survived by her nephew and nieces, and great-nephew and great-nieces: Douglas (Anjanette), Mackenzie, and Alexandria Jonas of Richland MI, Christine (Douglas), Samantha, and Maxwell Lewis of Wilmington NC, and Jennifer (Stephen) and Ariana Chaffin of Stevensville, MI. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private Memorial Service in Pat's honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and The Kalamazoo Nature Center.
