Age 84, passed away on June 8, 2024, at Borgess Place in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on November 19, 1939, the daughter of the late Steven and Lauradene (Kannegieter) DeHaan. Pat grew up in Kalamazoo and was always proud to call Southwest Michigan her home. She was a kind, gentle and faithful woman whose character was founded in her faith of God. She was selfless and was always willing to help others. She was a member of Centerpoint Church on 10th Street where her smile will be missed on Sunday mornings. She faithfully attended the Tuesday morning Bible study at the church and also looked forward to meeting with her "Serendipity" group. To know Pat was to love her and she found value in friendship. She always looked forward to gathering with friends from grade school known as the "Northwood Girls". Pat worked hard at home to provide a place of encouragement and faith. She loved spending time at the family home on North Lake in Gobles. Whenever possible Pat took the time to enjoy a sunset, watch the boys play or visit with neighbors. Above all Pat loved her family and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind the legacy of love. On May 28, 1965, she married the love of her life Edward Doorlag who preceded her in passing in 2023. She is survived by two loving sons, Barry (Tracey) Doorlag and Brian (Preeti) Doorlag; four grandchildren, Caleb Joseph Edward Doorlag, Brianna Jessica Doorlag, Ashley (Jace Judy) Newburry and Emily Newburry; one great-grandson, Kolby Zandstra; siblings, Kathy Hoeksema and Larry (Ruth) DeHaan; sister-in-law, Deb DeHaan; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a granddaughter, Reena Hannah Doorlag; siblings, Steven L. DeHaan, Jack (Cheryl) DeHaan; several in-laws. In accordance with her wish, cremation will take place and a memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a service beginning at 2:00 PM at Centerpoint Church, 2345 1oth St. N.
