Pamela Ackerman

Age 60, of Kalamazoo, lost her fight with stage four lung cancer and passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 12, 2018. Pam was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 21, 1957 to parents Phillip and Sandra (Grimm) Ackerman. She graduated from Comstock High School in 1975 and went on to complete a Certified Medical Assistant program through GREC and Certified Massage Therapist program through Everest Institute. Pam was employed at BOVA Bakery in Kalamazoo from 2008 until her passing. Even through the tough times, Pam never lost her smile and positive outlook; her bubbly personality and contagious laugh were still very much prevalent. She had a huge heart and would do anything to help someone in need, even when she had so very little to give. She is survived by her mother Sandra, daughters Sheena Sutton and Stacy (Sutton) Anderson, grandchildren Keegan, Olivia, and Shelby, sisters Toni Todd, Dawn Ackerman and Phyllis Brundage, and many nieces nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Kalamazoo Covenant Church, 5708 E. Main St., 269-344-2287. Interment will take place at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery.
