Oscar Poston

Oscar G.Poston, age 73, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Sunday February 5, 2017. Oscar was born July 18, 1943 in Laporte, IN the son of Walter and Lucille (Thompson) Poston. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army for over 23 years until his retirement. Oscar enjoyed playing the guitar; playing softball in the over 60 league; and bowling in the Saturday Night Strikers and the Thursday Senior League. He also enjoyed doing wood crafts, wood working, and spending time with his family. Oscar is survived by his children, Tammy (Jeff) Conner, Edward Crowe, Jerry Crowe, DeeDee (Bill) Stevenson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Virginia Thomas, Russell Poston, Dan (Sheryl) Poston, Loretta Poston; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Milton, Madelyn, and Warren. Friends may meet the family Thursday, February 9 from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 13 at 10:30am in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors.
