Norma Veld

Norma J. Veld, age 93, passed away October 24, 2020. She was born January 12, 1927, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Jacob and Nellie (Boodt) Legerstee. Norma was a graduate of Central High School and attended Western Michigan University. She was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church and Second Reformed Church. She worked at Miller Lumber Company for 9 years and 16 years in a dentist office. On March 4, 1950, Norma married her husband of 70 years, Thomas Veld. She is also survived by her children: Janet (Tim) Osterman and Barbara Veld; her 2 grandchildren, Becky (Tom) Knapik and Jeff Osterman, and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Osterman and Emma Knapik. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Veld. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 2 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Second Reformed Church, 2323 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49008, with Masks, Social Distancing, and Temperature Checks required for every participants protection. Norma's funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the church, with Pastor Kevin Hart officiating. A private interment will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
