With her family by her side, Nancy L. Catrine, age 84, passed away Wednesday March 27, 2024. Nancy was born in Sheboygan, WI on the 4th of July, 1939, daughter of the late Henry and Elda (nee: Stange) Ostwald and moved to Racine at the age of 10.

Nancy graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1957” and helped organize many high school reunions. She was honored and privileged to be a registered nurse for 44 years. Nancy graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1960, mainly worked at A-Center and then for twenty years at the City of Racine Health Department. On March 3, 1962, Nancy married the love of her life, Frank Catrine, and shared 62 wonderful years together. They had three sons, Michael (Katie) Catrine, John Catrine, and Gary (Rhonda) Catrine; grandson, Jordan (Gina) Catrine; and two great grandchildren, Arya and Jackson Catrine. Nancy dearly loved and cared for her family.

Always a willing volunteer, Nancy was a member of the Retired inactive nurses Group (RING), and helped with Big Sisters of Racine, Racine Unified WINGS Program at Roosevelt School, and the Hospitality Center Clothes Closet. She was an active member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, where she was born again and tried to live her life for the glory of God.. Nancy will be remembered for her many acts of kindness, her love of the Green Bay Packers, her 4th of July birthday parties. and her great love and devotion to her family.

Nancy will be dearly missed by her husband, Frank; her sons, grandson, and great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Eaton; Charla (Ken) Davis; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her in-laws, Ken Eaton, Carl Catrine, Tom Catrine, Josie Drettwan, and Tony Catrine.

Funeral services will be held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 4701 Erie Street, on Friday April 12, 2024, 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. Memorials to Big Sisters of Greater Racine, Hospitality Center Clothes Closet, St Michael’s Episcopal Church or Sleep in Heavenly Peace (shpbeds.org) have been suggested.
