Monica Weaver Brown

Weaver Brown, Monica Portage, MI Monica Weaver Brown, 59, of Portage, Michigan, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center with family members at her side. She was born August 20, 1957 in Great Falls, Montana. Monica was a long time resident of Portage, Michigan and graduated from Battle Creek Central High and attended KVCC. She was a former employee of Stryker Cooperation. Throughout her life she enjoyed playing Class A softball, reading, playing cards, working on her home, ballroom dancing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Robert R Eldridge and mother George Ann (Baker) Smith. She is survived by her son, Mario (Holly) J. Brown of Schoolcraft, MI; grandsons, Rasaun and Bennett, granddaughter, Andersen; sister, Helen K.M. Voltaire of Oshtemo, MI; brothers, Robert R Eldridge II of Avon IN, Ronald (Kila) Smith DDS of Atlanta, GA, Michael (Lynnette) Davis of Orlando, FL; niece, Monica Rolle (Little Monica) of Charlotte, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3rd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, with Elder Elvarene Showers officiating.
