Mildred “Millie” DeKoster, age 81, of Plainwell passed away on October 31, 2017 at Alamo Nursing Home. Millie was born on September 8, 1936 to Clare & Viola (Bruce) Collins. Visit with her family and friends on Tuesday, November 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church; 12220 Cressey Rd. in Plainwell. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Millie’s family includes her daughter Karen DeKoster; siblings: Les (Lonna) Collins, Dave (Mary) Collins and Phylis (Paul) Kitchen as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert “Bud” DeKoster, son Al DeKoster, great grandson Joey and sisters-in-law, Becky Collins and Madeline (Marshall) Harvey. Millie enjoyed reading, crafts, word searches and watching game shows. One of her favorite pastime was keeping birdfeeders and watching birds. She was a charter member at Lighthouse Baptist Church where she was known at the cookie lady.
