Milan R. Alusic, age 90, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Sheridan Medical Complex. He was born in Racine, December 3, 1925, son of the late Steve and Hermina (Nee: Charvat) Alusic.

Milan was a graduate of Washington Park High School. During World War II and the Korean War he proudly served in the United States Navy. Milan was employed by Western Publishing for forty-five years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Pentecost Lutheran Church, Racine Coin Club, Kenosha Coin Club, and the Midwest Chapter of IBNS. Milan enjoyed wildlife, traveling, and most of all spending time with family.

He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Helen Alusic, Marian Andersen; nephews and nieces, Jerome Andersen, Donald (Alice) Alusic, Robert Alusic, Michelle (Paul) Churchill, Lynn Garther; George Slezak, Roy Slezak, Mildred Slezak and John Slezak; many cousins in Czech Republic and Slovakia; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Alusic; and brother-in-law, Jerome Andersen.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Pentecost Lutheran Church, 2213 Coolidge Avenue, with Rev. Luke Jacob officiating. Interment will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to the Pentecost Lutheran Church, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or to the family have been suggested.

A special thank you to all of his caregivers at Sheridan Medical Complex for their loving and compassionate care.
