Michael Reck

Michael "Mike" Reck, 71, of South Haven, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven. Mike was born July 13, 1946 to Albert and Helen (Zack) Reck in Muskegon. He married Mary (Banner) Reck on December 27, 1974. Mike worked for General Motors as a Production Control Supervisor for 35 years before his eventual retirement. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Mike found his greatest pleasure boating and fishing on Lake Michigan with family and friends. He also enjoyed restoring MG's and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a vibrant and active member of the South Haven community. Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years Mary Reck of South Haven, sons David (Stacy) Livingston of Plymouth, Michigan and Noah (Lynne) Livingston of Hickory Corners, Michigan, siblings Robert Reck of Kalamazoo, and Arlene Radcliffe of Okemos, Michigan and four grandchildren Jenna, Abigail, Teddy, and Hank Livingston. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2017 and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Mike will be laid to rest at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan in the Spring of 2018.
