Ambro, Jr., Michael Jacob Gull Lake (Richland), MI Mike, age 81, died Saturday afternoon, January 9, 2021 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Mike, the son of Michael J. and Nora E. (Siwik) Ambro, Sr., was born in Kalamazoo, MI on October 23, 1939; was a lifetime area resident and a 1957 graduate of St. Augustine Catholic High School. He furthered his education at Western Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. After a banking career that took him from teller to Senior Vice President, Mike's unyielding work ethic allowed him to "retire" in 1989 as the owner and operator of Goggin Equipment Rental, but continue as a local commercial real estate developer and manager. Mike had been a member of the Air National Guard and a very active St. Ann Catholic Church parishioner (and eventual groundskeeper). While passions included boating, fishing, Corvettes, Harleys and golf, family and friends will remember him best as the consummate problem-solver, focused on doing it right. Mike was united in marriage to Lou Ann Wesoloski in St. Edwards Catholic Church, Vicksburg, MI on July 9, 1966. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Lou Ann; two sons, Andy J. (Marilee) Ambro of Greensboro, NC and Adam J. (Jane) Ambro of Golden, CO; five precious grandchildren, MariKatherine, William, Margaret, Nora, and Polly; two sisters, Louise Sloger of Richland and Kathleen (Larry) Bartolameolli of Crystal Falls, MI and his brother, Tom (Pat) Ambro of Delton, MI; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, January 15th with Father Thomas J. McNally, Celebrant and Deacon Michael A. Carl, Assisting. Mike was laid to rest at Yorkville Cemetery on Friday, January 15th, just steps from his long time Gull Lake residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mike's honor may be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, in care of St. Ann Catholic Church at 12648 East D Avenue, Augusta, MI 49012. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel is assisting Mike's family. Personal message and/or memories of Mike may be placed at www.fareyestesdowdle.com.
