Melanie Viola Phillips, age 87, of Schoolcraft, MI. Loving Mother of nine children passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice, Kalamazoo, Mi. Proceeded in death by her husband Quillmon Phillips and daughter Wanda French. She is survived by children Rita (Bill) Reinbold, Rick (Lorraine) Davis, Sue Davis, Sid Davis, Sherry Nutter, Ron Phillips, Reba (Terry) Smith, and Dennis Phillips. 22 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren. A loving Mother, Grandmother and friend. A devoted Christian with a passion for serving the Lord Jesus Christ. Her southern personality and loving spirit will be forever cherished in the hearts of all that she has loved. Celebration of life will be held at Fort Custer Nation Cemetery, Augusta, MI on Wednesday 8/17/2016 at 10:00 am. Avink Funeral Home
