Max Mumford

Max "Bill" Mumford, age 68, of Paw Paw, MI passed away at this home on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015. He was born September 18, 1947 in Battle Creek the youngest of three children of Maxwell and Fern (Bates) Mumford. A graduate of Paw Paw High School Class of 1965, Bill received a degree in Business Administration at Northwood University, Midland, MI. While attending Northwood University Bill played football for the Timberwolves. Bill was a sales rep for Edwards Industrial Supply until his health forced his retirement. For the next few years he worked part time at the Oasis Party Store, Paw Paw on weekends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and officiating high school football, baseball and volleyball. He was a 35 year life member of the Paw Paw Lions Club and chairman of the Lions Invitational Track Meets. Surviving are a son, Michael Mumford of Saint George, Utah, Mike's mother, Joette Mumford; four grandchildren, Shelby, Brandon, Keeton and Mackenzie Mumford two sisters, Adele (Frank) Walters and Mary Ellen (Tom) Smith all of Paw Paw, two nieces, four nephews, aunts and cousins. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends Friday Dec. 4th 1 to 2 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw were a memorial service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tiffany McCafferty officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo or American Legion Post #68 Veterans Park or the Paw Paw Lions Club. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
