Wilson, Mary Suzanne 1/16/1928 - 10/30/2020 Henderson, NV Mary Suzanne ('Sue') Wilson On Friday, October 30, 2020, Mary Suzanne ('Sue') Wilson, passed away at the age of 92. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 16, 1928, to Charles and Beatrice Finley. She had one younger sister, Barbara (deceased). Her entire upbringing took place in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Sue was a superb outdoorswoman, something she learned from spending much time with her dad. True to form, she married Jerry J. Wilson, after college on September 16, 1950. They met in biology class at Michigan State University. Jerry and Sue lived throughout the Midwest on wildlife refuges, where he worked with the Fish & Wildlife Service. Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, Colorado, Washington and New Mexico were all homes for them. As a result of frequent moving, Sue was skilled in making friends, starting a conversation, and taking on an opportunity to become part of a community. Wheat Ridge Colorado was home for the longest space of time, 34 years, where she worked with the US Census Bureau. It was here that she and her husband helped create green space within suburban areas. She volunteered for years with Open Space, often picking up litter daily from the trails she walked. Her passion was service. She also volunteered for 16 years at a local Thrift Store. Sue's laughter filled the room. I don't think she ever met a meal she didn't like. How she loved her golden retrievers! She rescued many over the course of her life. It was just 'right' to have a golden sitting at her feet and her hand ever so lightly touching or patting the top of a golden retriever's head, who would lean into her love. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry. She is survived by her three children, Chuck Wilson (Suzie), Ann Sei (Mike), and Liz Baldizan (Ricardo). There are grandchildren and great grandchildren galore---Her last 15 years were spent in Las Vegas, Nevada. The matron of honor at most any family gathering, 'Gramma Sue' was humble and kind and giving. We are forever grateful for her example and dedication. Services will be private. Honoring Sue is possible through any gift to Golden Retriever Rescue, Southern Nevada, at https://www.grrsn.org/ Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123
