Mary Laughlin

Mary passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born November 20, 1937 in Evansville Indiana, the daughter of the late George and Ruth Rohr and had lived in the Gobles area for the majority of her life. She was a graduate of St. Augustine's in Kalamazoo, class of 1955. Mary was a devout Catholic woman, helping to found St. Jude Catholic Church in Gobles. She was very involved in many ministries at the parish, including being a member of the choir. Mary was a wonderful cook and was known for her bread baking as well as cooking the wild game her family harvested. She was a loving mother and grandmother, cherishing all time spent with her family. Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Forrest; children, Brian (Melissa), Steven (Gina), Jennifer (Jeremy) Flemming; grandchildren, Dustin, Benjamin, Hailey (Andrew), Ethan (Heather Kiggins), Kaitlyn, Alexis, Isabella; 2 great grandchildren, Jamison and Presley; siblings, Carole Rohr and Michael Rohr. She was preceded in death by a daughter Judith Russell; her parents; siblings; Chuck, George "Bill", Sharon Bartholomew and David. Following her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will meet friends on Friday, July 19th at St. Jude Parish where the rosary will be recited at 10am followed by a memorial Mass at 11am.
