Mary LaPres

Mrs. Mary Jean LaPres, age 72, died peacefully Thursday, July 12, 2007 in Brighton, MI, surrounded by her family members. She was born on October 3, 1934 in Detroit, MI to Leonard and Aurelia (Geiger) Brennan. Mary was a graduate of the Little Company of Mary Nursing School in Chicago, IL, earning a Registered Nurse Degree. She married Lawrence "Joe" LaPres on November 3, 1956, and he died on June 17, 2000. Mary was an active member of St. Jeans Catholic Church. Survivors are her children, Theresa (Michael) Bilbrey of Brighton, MI, Michael LaPres of Boulder, CO, Thomas (Deborah) LaPres of Grand Rapids, MI, Helen (William) Hevel of Sterling Heights, MI, John (Marie) LaPres of Okemos, MI, Catherine (Michael) Kryza of Katonah, NY, Elizabeth (Brian) Roodbeen of Chesterfield Twp., MI; daughter, Mary LaPres of Brighton, MI; and her 19 grandchildren. Mary was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph LaPres on October 14, 2006. The Funeral Liturgy will begin on Tuesday, 11am, at St. Jeans Catholic Church. Burial will be made in St. Marys Cemetery. Visitation hours on Monday are 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Pachesny-Jend Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30pm. Visitation is also at the church, one hour prior to service. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society - The Muskegon County Unit.
