Mary Jean Bryer, of Scotts passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the age of 90. Mary Jean was born on October 15, 1927 in Adrian, MI. She was the daughter of Loren and Ruth (Potter) Austin. On November 3, 1956 she married Lorin Bryer. She was a registered nurse at Bronson Methodist Hospital and helped them put together their first ICU. She retired as a registered nurse at VA Hospital in Battle Creek. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing word searches and being with her family. Mary Jean was a member of the St. Michael Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lorin; two children: David (Kathy) Bryer, of WI; Daniel (Nicolle) Bryer, of Scotts; three grandchildren: Caitlin (Ryan Williams) Bryer, of NY; Khristopher Bryer, of Scotts; and Alexander Bryer, of Scotts. She is also survived by her siblings: Gertrude Weaver, of IN; Joyce Berklin, of GA; and Loren Austin, of OR; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11am at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 7211 Oakland Drive. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church starting at 10am.
