Age 88, went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2024. She was born in Montgomery, VT., on November 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Harold and Eva (Singleton) Heath. On December 24, 1953, she married the love of her life and in 1954, moved to Kalamazoo, MI. Marie was a kind, loving and gentle woman who leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. Her faith was the foundation of her life; a gift she instilled in her children, grandchildren and those around her. She worked as a licensed Cosmetologist for many years and also served others as an in-home nurse's aide. Marie was artistic and creative; when not working she enjoyed painting, drawing, writing poetry and playing the piano. She was a social butterfly who loved hosting family gatherings and holidays where her sense of humor always brought joy and laughter to the party. Sunday mornings found Marie attending church and adult Sunday School at Parchment United Methodist Church where she made many friends. Above all Marie loved her family and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. Her smile, laughter and love will be missed. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Robin (Don) Smith of North Port, FL, Randy (Carol) Hogaboom of Kalamazoo, MI, Penny (Anthony 'Tony') Rich of Piney Flats, TN; grandchildren, Brian (Kendra) Cook, Michelle Cook, Angela (Mike) Johnston, Tonia (Scott) Coburn, Jennifer Gillespie; three great-grandsons, Austin Cook, Brock Seely and Connor Johnston; five great-granddaughters, and one great-great granddaughter; sister, Theresa Forshey; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by her former husband Norman Hogaboom. A funeral service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Saturday, July 6, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at East Cooper Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army or Centrica Care Navigators Hospice, c/o the funeral home. Family and friends may share a condolence message online at www.joldersma-klein.com.
