Martha Playter

Martha J. Playter, 82 - Kingsley, MI

On March 7th, 2024, with her admired family by her side, peacefully reunited with her beloved husband Keith and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into her heavenly life.

Martha was born in Traverse City, Michigan to Rudolph (Rudy) and Jane Bohaboy on May 10th, 1941. She attended Traverse City High School graduating in 1960, where she enjoyed Glee Club, Red Cross Delegate and Prep Club.

She was a devoted mother to the late Anthony Erickson, Kathy Lyon, Penny Julin (Jacques),

and Larry Erickson (Cheryl). Cherished grandmother to Michael Hency, Summer Lyons, Kevin Hency, Matthew Erickson, Lisa Oatley, Amanda Willard, Karri Lonie, Katelynn Huffman, Kenneth Green, Skie Harrison, and Dawn Brown. She was also a great-grandmother to 25, which she loved to tell others all about.

Martha was an active member of the Kingsley United Methodist Church and absolutely loved her church family. She was also a lover of music, parades, theater and shows on ice. In Martha's spare time she found great joy in gardening, knitting, crocheting, sewing baby blankets and making her famous “Grandma’s Pajamas” for all the grandkids.

Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband Keith Playter, her parents Rudolph and Jane Bohaboy, her eldest son Anthony Erickson, grandchildren Paul & Teri Erickson, and her sister Ellen Bailey.

A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at Kingsley United Methodist Church. Service will begin at 12:00 pm with a luncheon to follow. Feel free to wear blue as it was her favorite color.
