Marjorie Rupp

Marjorie Ilene Rupp, 94, of Allegan, MI passed away Friday January 18, 2019 at her winter home in Fort Myers, FL. Born December 31, 1924 in Royal Oak, MI, she was the daughter of Ida(Root) and William Kellogg and sister to Paul and the wife of William Rupp Jr., all who have preceded her in death. Marjorie grew up in North Star, MI. She graduated from Ithaca High School and attended Michigan State College when she was sixteen years old. There she meet her husband of sixty years, William Rupp, who was the captain of the Spartan football team. After William returned from World War II, they moved to Mount Clemens, MI, Grand Rapids, MI, Wayland, MI, and Allegan, MI. They had three children, William III, Philip and Ellen. Marjorie and Bill were generous with their time and love for their family. Marjorie retired from the Grand Rapids Education Association. They traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe. She loved working cross word puzzles and never found one she could not solve. She attended Allegan Congregational Church where she found very special friends. Marjorie is survived by her children, William III (Nancy), Philip (Julie Belcher), and son-in-law Jeff Justin. Daughter Ellen Justin, passed in 2010. Granddaughters include Ashley Rupp-Tompkins (Eric), Christine VanDeWeghe (Joe), Rebecca Reed (Derek) and Hillary Justin (Jared Richard) Great grandchildren include Hunter, Maya and Madeleine Reed, Brendan and Zachary VanDeWeghe, and Lauren Rupp-Tompkins. There will be a small memorial service this summer for the family.
