Life Story / Obituary


Marion F. Edenburn born in Banks Township, MI on September 24, 1923 and passed at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City, MI on December 24, 2014.

Marion graduated from Nurses training at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She worked as a registered Nurse at the Traverse City Regional Psychiatric Hospital for 35 years. She enjoyed this work and was a well thought of fellow worker and employee. She was a dedicated, caring and competent Nurse.

Her hobbies were varied. Marion enjoyed fishing and hunting for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed crosswords, crocheting, and keeping her daily calendar of temperatures and weather conditions. She never forgot anyone's birthday and always sent cards or made telephone calls to all the important people in her life. She lived in Traverse City for the past 68 years.

Marion married in 1947 and had 3 children from this union, Thomas, Dawn and Robert.

Marion is survived by her children, Thomas (Dian) W. Edenburn , Dawn (Gilbert) McCallister, Robert (Lynda) Sivek; grandchildren, Corey, Jeremy, Shawn, Samantha, Jennifer and Anthony; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; cousins; relatives and friends.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bessie Klooster; sister, Betty Rose Taylor; brother, Henry 'Bud' Klooster; grandson, Jon E. McCallister, and great-granddaughter, Lily Dawn Hampton.

An informal gathering will be held from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Sat., May 23, 2015 at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City; a luncheon will follow. She will rest at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, Traverse City. Memorial Contributions may be made to Munson Hospice House. Please visit to sign the guest book and share a message with her family.
