Marilynn Ligon

Marilynn Jean Ligon passed away surrounded by family at the Hospice House in Traverse City, MI. She loved nature and enjoyed being active outdoors skiing, golfing, and playing tennis. She was devoted to her faith in the Christian Science Church. Marilynn was born in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1925. In 1943, met and married her husband, A. Leonard Ligon in Texas while he was enlisted in the service prior to going to fight in WWII. Later moving to and becoming a resident of Traverse City in 1945.

Marilynn is survived by sons, Leonard (Eddie) Ligon of Traverse City, Charles Ligon of Sarasota, Florida and her ‘daughter’ Kathleen Klaasen Dohm of Traverse City; grandchildren, Matthew, Amber, Rebecca, Emily, Zachary, Dijon, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Marilynn is preceded in death by her husband and her son, David Ligon.

Cremation will take place with the family remembering her privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the Munson Hospice House at https://munsonhealthcare.thankyou4caring.org or the Cherryland Humane Society, 1750 Ahlberg Rd. Traverse City, MI 49686.
