Householder, Marilyn A. of Grand Rapids formerly of Kalamazoo Marilyn passed away Friday afternoon, October 21, 2016 at Fulton Manor, Grand Rapids, where she had resided for the past 9 years. She was born on February 20, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the oldest of seven children to Peter and Anna (Agema) Smit. She was employed by Ryan, Jamieson & Hubbell attorneys for 18 years until her retirement. During retirement, she worked for Douglas and Son as an interior decorator for 4 years. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. On September 14, 1996, she was married to David Householder, who survives. Also surviving are her son: Steven Triesenberg; daughter-in-law: Mary Triesenberg; granddaughter: Stephanie Triesenberg; brother: Roger Smit; three sisters: Phyllis (Richard) Ciganek, Beth (Brian) Doxtator and Cynthia (Stephen) Gero and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her son: Daniel Bommersbach; sister: Karen Boyd and brother: Robert Smit. Friends may visit with Marilyn's family from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. There will be no service. Private inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be directed to Fulton Manor Resident's Fund.
