Tabanguil-May, Maribel Portage, MI Maribel Ferrer Tabanguil-May, age 59 of Portage, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born December 29, 1960 in Manila, Philippines the daughter of Isabelo U. and Marivic C. (Ferrer) Tabanguil. Maribel graduated from Nazareth College of Nursing in 1984. She was employed for 43 years at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo until the time of her death. Maribel married Bruce May August 27, 1982. She enjoyed camping with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren, cooking for family gatherings, and mothering everyone around her. Maribel was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She is survived by her parents, Isabelo U. and Marivic C. (Ferrer) Tabanguil, her husband, Bruce May of Portage, 3 sons, Christopher (Sarah) May of Kalamazoo, Christian May of Kalamazoo, Christon May of Portage, 2 daughters, Christine (Matt Crummel) Tyler, Christa May (Dwight Phillips); 8 grandchildren, 4 brothers, George (Michele) Tabanguil of Florida, Dennis Tabanguil of rl'hree Rivers, Isabelo Tabanguil Ill of Florida, Alvin (Elana) Tabanguil of Virginia, 2 sisters, Jocelyn (Matt) Hampton of Arizona, Mia Smith of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
