Speck, Marianne 7/28/1936 - 6/6/2022 Prescott Marianne Schau Speck. 85, Prescott AZ. Passed away June 6, 2022 The eldest daughter of Maynard E and Jean (MacKenzie) Schau. She graduated from State High School and Western Michigan University (WMU). While at WMU she served as Vice President of Women's Affairs & Judicial Board Chairman, she was a member of Sigma Kappa, and Pi Omega Pi. She devoted her life to children, raising her own, enjoying her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and teaching for the Comstock Public Schools for 30 years. While teaching she was honored to be an active member of NEA, CEA, MEA, and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary organization for outstanding women educators. After retirement she was active in MARSP, KARSP, MEA-R, and AARP. Marianne especially enjoyed traveling both to visit her family as well as to see and visit the many places she read and taught about. Another priority in Marianne's life was her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a longtime member of Haven Reformed Church in Kalamazoo where she directed Jr. Choir, led the primary Sunday school, sang in choir, and served where needed. She continued her Servant Leadership living in Venture Out in Mesa, Arizona, running their Library and Worship Committee, as well as volunteering for many children's nonprofit organizations. Marianne is survived by her children, Michael Speck, Douglas (Stacy) Speck, Julie (Brent Sr) Ruttle, her Grandchildren, Brent Jr (Victoria) Ruttle, Jessica (Coby) Gravel, Robert Speck, Holly (Elliot) Pate, Alexandra Speck, Nicole Speck, and Great Grandchildren, Adrian Gravel, Sloane Speck, and TBD Gravel, Her sister Sandy (Roy) Howard, and many nieces and nephews. Proceeding her in death were her Parents Maynard and Jean Schau and her sister Joani Siwik. There will be a Celebration of Life in Payson Arizona Fall of 2022.
