West, Margaret Margaret A. (Loker) West, age 92, of rural Vicksburg, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at her daughter's home near Scotts. She was born in Hersey, MI on April 21, 1928 the daughter of Perry C. and Marian (Vance) Loker. She grew up on the family farm near Fulton and graduated from Athens High School. She was married to William Francis West on June 22, 1947. She was a farm wife who also was a school bus driver and trainer for Vicksburg Schools for over thirty years. She was an active member of the Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene, singing in the choir and working in the nursery. She was a 4-H leader and taught many young ladies how to sew, knit, and plant a garden. Margaret loved to design flower arrangements, creating pieces for family weddings and special events and worked part-time at Smith's Greenhouse. She raised and sold canaries in her spare time. She was a great cook and loved cooking for her family. Margaret is survived by four children, Linda (Lee) Crotser of Scotts, Mary Lou (Sal) Cali of Sturgis, Diane Blain of Portage, and Alan West of Sherwood; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Max (Elaine) Loker of Schoolcraft; sister, Vera Boyer of Indiana; two sisters in law, Dolly Loker and Beatrice Loker; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; and brothers, Bruce and Dale Loker. Family and friends may have a viewing from 10 am until 6 pm Friday, Nov. 27, 2020 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Because of COVID-19 the family may not be present. Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020 at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Downs officiating. Social distancing, a capacity of 25, and the use of masks will be observed. There will be no procession or graveside service. Margaret will be interred next to her husband in North Fulton Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial donations be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. A recording of her funeral ceremony may be seen on the funeral home website later in the day.
