Margaret Hamilton

Margaret C. (Brigance-Havilar) Hamilton, age 92, of Cooper Township, MI passed away on January 29, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born on January 2, 1925 in Tyler, MO, one of thirteen children to Charles and Mae Brigance. Margaret lived in her Cooper Township home for the past 60 years, where she raised her daughters. For 35 years, she was employed by Oakes Carton (formerly P&Z Paper Box Mfg.), until her retirement. Margaret loved working in her flower garden, feeding birds, hand quilting many quilts and she even raised a few cats. Surviving are her three daughters: Carolyn Markus, Roberta Lefkes (Richard), and Sass Margo Havilar; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; son-in-law: Donald Markus; and twelve brothers and sisters. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10-11am on Friday, Feb. 3, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, where a service to celebrate Margaret's life will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in East Cooper Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
