After 26 years of waiting, Mrs. Marcia (Wilcox) Husted, of Kalamazoo, MI went to Heaven to dance with her Husband, Richard (Dick) Husted of 68 years on September, 11, 2016. Their unwavering love and service for each other was an example of how beautiful marriage can be to anyone who knew them. Marcia's love, contagious positive energy and servant's heart shaped her family and anyone whose life touched hers. It was the simple things around her in life that she never took for granted, commenting daily how fortunate and thankful she was. She managed the Rummage Sale at the First United Methodist Church for many years, volunteered for both the American Red Cross and the Discovery Shop. Marcia was a lifelong member of the Oshtemo Farmer's Card Club, Wine Club and Kalamazoo County Extension. She loved to bake chocolate chip cookies and share them with anyone who came to her home. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and rooting for Duke Basketball and the Detroit Tigers. Above all, Marcia was absolutely devoted to her family. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love and the peace and joy that would await her after her passing. Marcia was married to Richard (Dick) Husted who preceded her in death on May 7, 1990. She was also preceded in death by three of her children: Roxanne Husted (2005), Ric Husted Jr. (1984), and Bob Husted (2010). Surviving are three children: Nancy Husted, Launa (Larry) Rogers, and Rick (Natalie) Husted III. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Suzanne Dziewicki, Christine Dziewicki, Matthew (Kristin Simonson) Guthaus, Elizabeth (Kent) Will, Maggie Keehbauch, Billy (Lauren) Rogers, and Lincoln, Emma and Judah Husted along with one great grandchild, Parker Will. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Wednesday, September 14th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where services to celebrate Marcia's life will be held at 11AM on Thursday September 15th, with Pastor Rob Link officiating. A lunch reception will follow. Memorial donations can be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Beyond financial donations, in her honor, do one of the things Marcia was known for; a loving act of kindness, send a card, bake someone cookies, give a hug, or tell someone how much they mean to you.
