arcia French (Lachmann) - June 11, 1933 - December 13, 2024 .
Marcia French passed away peacefully at her residence in Dublin, Ohio, on December 13, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on June 11, 1933, in Conklin, Michigan, Marcia lived a life defined by love, dedication, and kindness.
A proud graduate of Western Michigan University, Marcia met her husband, Daniel French, during her time there. The two were married on June 25, 1955 in Kalamazoo. Their nearly 70 years of marriage were filled with cherished memories and a deep commitment to one another and their family.
Marcia's faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devoted Lutheran, she found strength and guidance in her beliefs and was an active member of her church community alongside Daniel. Her faith provided comfort and inspiration throughout her life.
Early in her career, Marcia worked as a typing teacher, sharing her knowledge and passion with her students. After dedicating herself to raising her three children, she returned to the workforce as a medical transcriptionist at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Her strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail were evident in all aspects of her professional and personal life.
Marcia was a loving mother to her three children: Diane Caruso of South Jordan, Utah; Mark French of Shelbyville, Michigan; and Steven French of Powell, Ohio. She was also a devoted grandmother to her 10 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to her 13 great-grandchildren. Her family brought immense joy to her life, and she treasured the time spent with them.
In their later years, Marcia and Daniel embraced the warmth of Florida winters in Palmetto before eventually settling in Dublin, Ohio. There, Marcia lived out the remainder of her life surrounded by the love of family and friends.
In her later years, Marcia faced Alzheimer's disease with remarkable grace and courage. Through it all, the warmth and kindness that defined her character continued to shine brightly for those around her.
Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Philip Lachmann; her mother, Mabel Lachmann; and her siblings: Doris Lachmann; Kenneth Lachmann; Wilma Bennink; Gordon Lachmann; Myrna Pike; and Paul Lachmann. She is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel French; her three children; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many dear friends and loved ones who will continue to honor her memory.
In accordance with Marcia's wishes, she has been cremated, and no funeral service will be held. The family kindly requests that donations be made in Marcia's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or Capital City Hospice in Columbus, Ohio.
Marcia's family takes comfort in knowing that she will be remembered for the love she shared so freely, the joy she brought into the lives of others, and the enduring legacy of strength, faith, and grace she leaves behind.
