Scott, Malcolm 8/19/1932 - 3/1/2022 Mattawan Malcolm (Mal) D. Scott, passed away on March 1, 2022, at the age of 89. The son of Dr. Paul and Gladys Scott. Mal was born in New Market, IN on August 19, 1932. Mal grew up in New Market and graduated from high school in 1950, where his fondest memory was the year he and his team mates won the Crawfordsville Sectional Basketball Tournament. Mal honorably served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1954, actually spending one full year in Korea.. Mal retired from the heating and cooling sales and service industry. Mal lived and enjoyed his life at Sandy Pines Resort, where he was an avid golfer for over 30 years at Lake Monterey Golf Course. He was a Charter member of the Paw Paw Lions Club, a member of Merson Church of Gobles, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a volunteer for First Congregational Church of Allegan (food services) and Love Inc. in Hamilton. Mal was a "die-hard" Purdue basketball fan, never missing a game! Mal is survived by his son, Michael (Patricia) Scott of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Christopher (Ellyn) Scott of Minnesota, Jeffrey (Hope) Scott of Battle Creek, Sarah (Joel) Scott of Kalamazoo, Matt (Kirsten) Scott of Williamsburg, MI and Step daughters Lynn Dunkley and Vivian Lanham. Mal loved spending time with his five grandchildren and cherished time spent with Jane Scott Quigno and Lori Deland, (Monte Scott's fiance) Mal was preceded in death by his parents, his dear son Monte Scott, a sister, Margarite Priebe and wives Ana Scott and Joan Scott. We will always love and miss you Grampa Mal. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in May.
