Mae Hilmer Mason, age 94, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Taylor, MS, October 7, 1921, daughter of the late Perry and Vinnie (Nee: Burt) Martin.

Mae graduated from the College of Racine and U.W. Parkside. She was employed many years by RUSD as a teacher at Goodland and Westridge Elementary Schools. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing with the Senior Choir. Above all she treasured time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Clifton Mason Jr. (Anita), Rossie Brown, Reginald Mason, and James Mason; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lillie Martin, Annie Martin, Sandra Mason, and Nettie Coker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton G. Mason; a daughter, Donna; 7 brothers and 1 sister.

A Homegoing celebration will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1123 Center St., with Bishop L.L. Kirby officiating. Interment will be held at Yacona Cemetery in Taylor, MS. Visitation will be at the church Wednesday 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gierahn and his nurse, Kelly for their loving and compassionate care.
