Lucia Ceithaml

Lucia Sanchez Ceithaml, passed away Sunday, September 19, at the age of 75. A beloved wife, mother and friend, Luci raised her children in Plainwell, MI. She lived in the Kalamazoo area for more than 35 years before moving to Sawyer, MI, several years ago. Luci was known for her hospitality and welcoming nature. She was an excellent cook, an avid golfer and a voracious reader. She was social and kind, and enjoyed being with her friends and family. Luci loved spending time with her 6 grandchildren and was always anxious to hear their stories. She had a generous spirit and a friendly nature. Luci volunteered at Bronson Hospital for many years and was a member of the Ladies Library Association in Kalamazoo. In the Sawyer area, she was a Friends of the Bridgman Library volunteer and read to underprivileged children in a local school program. She loved lunching with good friends, playing bridge and watching movies. She is greatly missed by many. Luci is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carl Ceithaml; her children, Greg (Cyndi), Lisa (Jack) Reineck, and Jillian; and her grandchildren, Auden, Olivia, Owen, Henry, Frank and Jake. Visitation is Sunday, September 26, from 2pm to 6pm, and the funeral service is 10 am Monday, September 27. Richard Modell Funeral Home, 5725 S. Pulaski Rd., Chicago. Burial at noon on Monday at Bohemian National Cemetery, 5255 N. Pulaski Rd., Chicago. Luci leaves behind her beloved rescue dog Ernie.
