Lucia Cantor

CANTOR - Lucia Sophia Cantor, age 86, of Grand Rapids, died in peace on January 15, 2012. She will remain forever in the hearts of her loving family. Lucia grew up in Reed City, Michigan and spent most of her adult life in Grand Rapids. In 1946 she earned her nursing degree and went on to obtain a master's degree from University of Michigan in 1980. She was an accomplished woman with a fulfilling career as a nursing instructor at Mercy Central School of Nursing and enjoyed her leisure time playing Duplicate Bridge, ultimately becoming a life master. Lucia is survived by her three sisters, Evelyn Pilarski, Clara Truskoski, and Helen (Jerry) Borsum; cousins, Donald (Betty) Draminski and Stanley (Hennie) Draminski; three children, David (Gretchen) Cantor, Marcia Grodick and John (Lori) Cantor; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A private memorial gathering will be held at a future date in celebration of her life.
