Lowell Blocker

Blocker , Lowell Paw Paw Lowell Edward Blocker, age 74, of Paw Paw, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Lowell was a very charismatic man who never met a stranger. Family meant everything to Lowell, he was united in marriage to Mary Russell Blocker and raised five children. He was always active in their lives growing up and participating in their school events. He led his life with Integrity and a firm belief that "what's right is right ' and he never deviated from his principles. Lowell proudly served his country in the Air Force and was honorably discharged after 11 years of service. For many years he enjoyed working with children serving as a referee in Marcellus. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 220, Lawton, and a faithful member of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Paw Paw where he taught adult Sunday school. Lowell was the owner of the Napa parts store in Paw Paw many years back. He was an avid sportsman all of his life. In high school he was given the nickname "LD" standing for Liquid Death, as he was a very high performer in football. He also loved to go fishing, golfing and bowling. During the warmer months, Lowell took great pride in maintaining his yard. Lowell was born November 24, 1947 in Edwardsville, Illinois, the son of Harold Blocker and Ellen (Graving) Blocker. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Russell Blocker, three daughters, Tonya (Michael) Cunningham, Kristin (Curtis) Riggs and Kara (Marcus) Crouch; one son, Larry (Jill) Blocker; 16 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Lowell was preceded in death by his son, Roben Blocker. Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Archie Lahmon officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kalamazoo.
