Lori Holmes

Holmes, Lori L. Delton Lori Lynn (Evans) Holmes, age 60 of Delton, passed away on April 8, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. Lori was born on April 30, 1960 in Kalamazoo to Samuel and Glenda (Peck) Evans. She worked for MSC for 18 years as an inside sales supervisor, and at Vanguard for three years as an accountant. Lori was a dedicated member of Doster Community Reformed Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, treasurer, and deacon. She was a published gospel artist and sang in the church choir and also as a soloist. Lori was an artist and was interested in painting and glass art. She was also an art scholarship recipient. In her spare time, she liked stamping, reading, watching sci-fi, collecting angel sculptures, travelling, and enjoying the occasional fancy cocktail. Lori was a very stylish person and was very proud of her nail art. She could always be seen wearing jewelry, and was especially fond of her Black Hills Gold pieces. Most important to Lori was her family, especially her children and grandchildren who will miss her vibrant wit and sense of humor. Lori will be dearly missed by her husband, Elwin "Al" Holmes; children: Daryl Claffey, Amanda (Travis) Nesmith, Samantha (Jesse) Young, Elwin "Jay" (Mindy) Holmes, Erika (Derek) Wykstra; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Jeff Evans, Kirk Evans, Scott Evans; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Lori will be held on Thursday, April 15 at 11:00 A.M. at Doster Community Reformed Church with Pastor Rick Christy and Pastor Steve Slater officiating. Interment will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's, Wounded Warriors, or Doster Community Reformed Church.
