Lonnie Harrison

Lonnie Harrison, age 91, of Paw Paw, MI passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo. Lonnie was born March 8, 1925 in Tuscumbia Alabama, the son of JK and Odie Harrison. He had lived in the Paw Paw area since 1972. Lonnie honorably served his country as a member of the US Army serving during WWII. He loved farming and had worked in the paper mill as well. Surviving is his wife Mary Ellen whom he married August 29, 1992. Also surviving are his 2 sons, Milton (Peggy) of Allegan and Phil (Sue) of Hartselle Alabama; 3 stepchildren, Dave (Ronnie) Morabito of Paw Paw, Margaret McNally of Kalamazoo, Laura McNally of NewSmyrna Beach Florida; 12 grandchildren; Several great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; a sister Betty Tanksley of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Holli Davis, his sister Francis Robertson, 2 brothers, Curtis Harold Harrison and Warren Harrison and a brother in law Herschell Tanksley. The family will meet friends on Tuesday from 11 AM until time of funeral services at noon at the Gobles Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 2 PM. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Paw Paw American Legion Post or Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
