Went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, October 16, 2004. Lona was born on November 2, 1929, in El Paso, TX, the daughter of Autry and Argie (Bishop) Harp. On June 2, 1951 she married Richard J. Wiessner who survives her. She was a member of First Reformed Church of Kalamazoo for many years, and recently was a member of Second Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marjorie Wiessner. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, The Rev. Charles (Colleen) Wiessner of Raleigh, NC and Katherine (Roger) Sonneveldt of Grand Haven; grandsons, Nathaniel Wiessner, Benjamin Wiessner, Sean Sonneveldt, Michael Sonneveldt; brother, Bishop Harp of Owatonna, MN; sister, Blanche Ellston of Tampa, FL; brother in law, Harold Wiessner of Kalamazoo; special nieces, Janet Wiessner, Patricia (Steve) Myers, Annette (David) Drenth; several other nieces and nephews. Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with the Rev. Mark Walvoord and the Rev. Ralph Robrahn officiating. Private Interment at South Portage Cemetery. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home Monday 3-6 p.m. Those wishing to make lasting gifts in memory of Lona are asked to remember American Cancer Society or Vineyard Outreach Ministry.
