Linda L. Shafer

Shafer, Linda L. 1/19/1957 - 3/23/2023 KALAMAZOO Linda Lou Shafer, age 66, of Kalamazoo went home to the Lord on March 23rd, 2023. She was born January 19th, 1957, to Paul and Geraldine Bolin (Churchill). The most selfless and faithful mother, grandmother, friend, and servant of God is survived by her daughters, Amber and Erica; son, Aaron; and granddaughters, Katrina and Colette. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ron. Upon graduation from Portage Northern High School in 1975, Linda felt a pull to grow more deeply with Christ and began her studies at Great Lakes Christian College in Lansing, MI. After giving birth to three children she began working in food service at Mattawan Elementary School which she continued for 27 years until her retirement in 2021. Linda was a woman of profound faith which was evident in every facet of her incredible life. She prioritized spending her time and energy on her family and many friends. She volunteered her time in various roles at both church and school, loved reading Little House on the Prairie and Amish fiction, and spent whatever free time she had left exploring various other creative outlets. Her consistent shining example of God's love and kindness was transformative to all who knew her and will be remembered and carried on by her children and many generations to come. A service and celebration of Linda's amazing life will be held in April. Memorial contributions may be given to Renovation Church, c/o the funeral home.
