Lilah Francisco

Francisco, Lilah J. Delton Lilah Joan Francisco, age 84 of Delton, passed away on August 17, 2022. Lilah was born in Frontier, Michigan, the daughter of Harold and Arline (Dressler) Shiffler. Lilah was a second and third grade teacher at Delton Kellogg Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Faith United Methodist church, Women of Faith, Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, Michigan Education Association, National Education Association, and Delton-Kellogg Education Association. Always the teacher, Lilah was also a Sunday school teacher, 4H Leader, and on the board of directors for the children's corner daycare at the church. Lilah loved children, nature, going for walks, knitting, sewing, reading, and baking. Lilah is survived by her children: Jacqueline (Randy) Wahl, Gwendolyn (Ted) Boyle, Carolyn (William) Shuler, Kenneth (Mary) Francisco; grandchildren: Staci, William (Katherine), Brendan (Chelsea), Wyatt, Jacob (Lauren), Natalie, Caden (Brooke), Clayton, Nicholas; great granddaughter, Annaliese, and one on the way; brothers: Wendell (Judy) Shiffler, Walter (Linda) Shiffler, and Willis (Debbie) Shiffler; special cousin, Mary Margaret Lane; many nieces, nephews, and loving extended family and friends. Lilah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Francisco; brother, Wallace Shiffler; and sisters, Leona Bergman and Lela Powers. Friends and relatives may meet with the family on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the Faith United Methodist Church where a celebration of life service will take place at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Sam Gordy will officiate. Private burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Faith United Methodist Church will be appreciated.
