Leslie Lowder

Lowder Sr., Leslie "Les" 12/6/1925 - 11/20/2015 Comstock Age 89, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015. Les was born in Bangor, MI, on December 6, 1925, the son of the late Rex and Celia Lowder. He attended Bangor High School where he excelled at athletics, and was the quarterback of the football team. He enlisted in the Navy and served our country bravely during WWII until being honorably discharged. Les had a great personality and knew how to have fun. He enjoyed fishing, and was an exceptional bowler and pool shark. He had a giving heart and was always willing to help a friend. Les was a hard worker who was employed by Shaw Brothers Amusement, Shark Brothers Amusement, and Kalamazoo Amusement. When not working he loved to be around his family and friends. He was known and respected by many and will be missed. On June 1, 1945, he married the love of his life Norma (Scymkowski) Lowder who preceded him in passing on May 11, 1996. He was also preceded in passing by a daughter Bonnie Markwell; brothers, Chuck and Ralph; sisters, Roberta and Dorothy. He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Leslie (Jeanne) Lowder Jr.; grandchildren, Wade Lowder, Stacy (Matt) Snyder, Travis Markwell, Chris (Glenn) Stevens; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jacob; sisters, Elsie and Laura; many nieces, nephews, and great friends. A one hour visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with a private family interment to follow.
