A beloved son, brother, and friend, Leroy Augustine Green Jr., or Junie, as he was affectionately known, entered the world on November 24th, 1955, to Leroy Sr. and Iris Green. Growing up in Covert and South Haven, MI. Junie was adored by all who knew him, especially by his sister Julie. Leroy accepted Christ at a very young age at Covert Community Church in Covert, MI. Throughout his Christian up bringing he was a member of Sunday School, Youth Ministry, and Boy Scouts of America.

After graduating from high school, he pursued his passion for Communication Arts and Sciences at Western Michigan University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Prior to his formal training he spent time at Green's Supermarket which was the family business. The family business provided additional skills in marketing and customer service. He had a love for cooking, music, sports, and helping students at a variety of Kalamazoo Public Schools.

Leroy was a cherished employee at Kalamazoo Public Schools for 36 years, serving as a Home/School Interventionist and Behavior Specialist. His passion for helping children and families was evident as he was always available to lend a hand. Leroy's dedication extended beyond his full-time job, as he also worked part-time at D&W Food Center where he was known as the fish and seafood expert. In addition to his love for people, he had a second passion for computers. From programming to repair, he was fascinated by everything technology related. Sadly, Junie's time on this earth was cut short on April 10th, 2023, after a sudden battle with cancer. While his physical presence may be gone, his memory lives on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him dearly.

Leroy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by numerous friends and family members, including his sister, Julie Green; first cousins, Iris Salters, Yolanda Butler (Cephas), Debra Tolentino (Edward), Diane Jack, LaDonna Golden, Rosalind Ilgenfritz (Ron), and Maryann McDowell; as well as a host of extended family members and friend, Nancy Landsberger with whom he shared a special bond.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 27th 2023, at 1:00 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th St Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
