Leons Viksne

Viksne, Rev. Leons Kalamazoo Age 97, passed away on March 14, 2021. Leons was born in Riga, Latvia on December 22, 1923, the son of the late Peters and Vilhelmina (Iurka) Viksne. He came to the United States in 1949; he met his future wife, Aina Vetra and they were married in 1951. Leons and Aina moved to Kalamazoo in 1992, where he served as pastor of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo. Rev.Viksne is survived by a son, Edgars and grandchildren, Spencer and Rachel. A memorial graveside service to honor his life will be held on March 20, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Rev. Aija Graham will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church, c/o the funeral home.
