Leonard Calvert

Leonard Richard Calvert, age 90, of Plainwell went home to the Lord on July 17, 2020. Leonard was born June 14, 1930 in Three Rivers, Michigan, the son of George William and Pearl Irene (Bussler) Calvert. He attended Three Rivers High School. In 1946, Leonard joined the U.S. Air Force, serving three enlistments totaling 12 years. Leonard worked as a meteorologist for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service for more than 21 years until his retirement in 1986. Surviving are his wife, Beverly Forsyth; a daughter, Terri Lynn (Rick) Chambers; two grandchildren, Tobi (Ryan) Mejeur and Tyler Chambers; two great grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Farrow and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers. A private memorial service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
