Leann Carson

Carson, Leann B. Kalamazoo Passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 13, 2021. LeAnn was born November 8, 1929 in Kalamazoo the daughter of William and Helen (Campbell) Bonte and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo and Portage area. She was an active member of Pathfinder Church, co-owner of the Cake and Candy Shoppe, and volunteered with the Discovery Shop and Red Cross blood drives. She enjoyed her supper club with friends for over 50 years and was a member of the Jaycees and many bridge groups. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. On December 30, 1950 she was united in marriage to William Carson who preceded her in death on September 10, 1985. On July 14, 1996 she married William Gleason who preceded her in death on May 7, 2017. LeAnn was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bonte. She is survived by her children, Valerie Wynne, Thomas Carson, Dave (Judy) Carson; Cheryl (Brian) Gould, Colleen (Randall) Haithock; 6 grandchildren, Leslie (Brian) Dwyer, Sarah (Dave) Dockweiler, Eric (Jessica) Wynne, Sam Carson, Cari Carson, Cameron Manning; 5 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Nick (Elsie) Carson, Elaine Keifer-Brand; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 10:00-11:00am Tuesday October 19, at Pathfinder Church, 8740 South Westnedge where services will be held at 11:00am. Masks are encouraged but not required at church. Private family burial will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
