LaVern DeMann

LaVern passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 in Martin. He was born April 19, 1935 in Martin Township, the son of Foster and Florence (Oosterhouse) DeMann. LaVern owned and operated a dairy farm in Martin for many years. He was a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association and East Martin Christian Reformed Church. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, playing games and reading to his grandchildren. On August 29, 1957 in Byron Center he married Tressa Morren who passed away in 2019. Surviving are his children, Ken (Michelle) DeMann of Hudsonville, Doug (Jeanne) DeMann of Martin and Pat (Keith) Kuyper of Dorr; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren with the 12th arriving anytime; brothers, Don (Eleanor) DeMann, Dale (Marilyn) DeMann and Carl (Judy) DeMann; sister, Betty (Phil) VanNoord along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, Jim DeMann. Friends may visit with LaVern's family from 2-5 PM, Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the East Martin Christian Reformed Church where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 26, 2020 with Pastor Derek Noorman officiating. Private family burial will take place at East Martin Cemetery. Contributions in memory of LaVern may be made to East Martin Christian School.
